Why This Plum Juice Recipe is so Delicious
The addition of fresh green mint, roasted cumin seeds and black rock salt enhance the flavor of this homemade plum juice recipe making it an ideal summer cooler to beat the summer heat. Not only that, but plum panna is also a perfect digestive drink.
Roasting the plums takes this plum panna to the next level by intensifying its flavor, color, juice and natural sugar flavor. Did you know that medium heat can change the way natural sugar reacts? Similarly, roasting is a dry heat method of cooking which helps to caramelize the natural sugar in fruit and bring out its hidden flavor.
Not only that, but since plums contain a high percentage of water-soluble vitamins and fibers, roasting them keeps these nutrients intact and is a healthier way to make homemade plum juice.
You'll need to roast the plums before making this recipe. You can also boil them, but roasting provides the best flavor for this plum panna recipe.
Benefits of Plum Juice
Plum juice treats constipation in babies - Adding prune juice to a baby's diet is a common way to treat constipation. Since plums are the fresher version of prunes, they are equally good at treating tummy problems and relieving indigestion in our little ones.
Plum juice is a healthy adult cooler - It helps to maintain a healthy heart, control cholesterol levels, and maintain the electrolyte balance in our body. Plums are loaded with a range of healthy components, vitamins and minerals, and are a great source of vitamin C and rich in antioxidants, which can contribute to healthier skin.
Homemade plum juice is a healthy choice for kid's lunches - As a mom of school age children, one question that always bugs me is what should I pack as a drink for them at school? The juices available in the market are nothing but flavored sugar syrup with unwanted ingredients and chemicals, and freshly squeezed juices need to be consumed once they are prepared unless they are treated with heat.
This plum juice drink is perfect for packing in the kid's lunch boxes. I, usually pack it in an insulated flask or bottle with lots of ice to maintain a cool temperature and optimal flavor.

I have been eying this drink for a while but wasn’t sure if I would be able to do the justice to Rupali’s recipe and also we are not a fan family of plums. Two days ago my husband just casually mentioned about his cravings for aam panna and to this I could only think of Rupali’s plum panna recipe. I secretly tried and boom it turned out perfect. The drink’s color was beautiful, tasted super refreshing, and full of flavors. I highly recommend trying this recipe at home. Thank you Rupali for sharing the recipe; looking forward to many more.
