Healthy Oats and Nuts in Homemade Trail Mix

Both Oat and Nuts are known to be heart-healthy foods. Oats are often referred to as power foods since they are full of proteins, fibers, complex carbohydrates, and also a source of many vitamins and minerals. Nuts are packed with heart-healthy fats, protein, vitamins, fiber, and minerals. They also have L-arginine, making arteries less prone to blood clots by making them flexible. Nuts are also rich in antioxidants and are a strong anti-inflammatory.  Lastly making it at home gives you the assurance of no adulterants and unhealthy saturated fats.

Aruna, it should be Slivered. The very thin sliced almonds, you find in all grocery stores. Seems like it’s a typo I’ll fix it soon thank you.

      Ankita,
Yes you can make it on stovetop as well, just make sure to stir it continuously on medium to low heat. It will take little long though on stovetop.

I made the oats and nut trail mix for a weekend trip. It was so easy to make and I whipped it up in a jiffy since I had all the items in the pantry. This is an awesome recipe. It was a delicious guilt free snack both adults and kids indulged in. The recipe steps and pictures are very descriptive and helpful. I will making this every other week and snack on it.

One doubt what’s the purpose of keeping the snack in oven and keeping the door opened ..
How much time shd it be left in the oven with door opened

Hi Vardhu, thank you for liking the recipe. The reason behind leaving the oven door open is, so that steam can escape out in a cooling process, to prevent mixture getting soggy.
